Guidelines for Authors

​Preparation of Manuscript


We accept articles in English and in French

All articles must include an abstract in both English and French

A revision of the French abstract will be offered to authors who do not speak French

CybelePress will check the content of the article for plagiarism


Article Processing Charges (APC) are waived and there is no submission charge

Full title

Running header (shortened title)

Acknowledgements: do not forget collaborators

Manuscript


No limit of words, however, articles below 6,000 words are preferred (including abstract and references, but excluding tables and figures)

Page numbers
Clear concise language

Abstract 250 words (English and French), unstructured but including objective, methods, results and conclusion
3–6 keywords

Structure your article as follows: Introduction, Objective, Context (optional), Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion

Insert tables and figures in the main text
The preferred electronic format for text is Microsoft Word, we also accept pdf format
Use International Systems of Units (SI) symbols and recognized abbreviations for units of measurement
Spell out acronyms in the first instance in the abstract and paper
Suppliers of drugs, equipment, and other brand-name material are credited in parentheses (company, name, city, state, country)

Authorship

Authorship credit should be based on all the following conditions:
1) Substantial contributions to conception and design, acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data;
2) Drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content;
3) Final approval of the version to be published; and
4) Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.


Acquisition of funding, collection of data, or general supervision of the research group alone does not constitute authorship, but should be acknowledged.

The group should jointly make decisions about contributors/authors before submitting the manuscript for publication. The corresponding author/guarantor should be prepared to explain the presence and order of these individuals. It is not the role of editors to make authorship/contributorship decisions or to arbitrate conflicts related to authorship.

Clinical Trial Registration

We require the registration of all clinical trials in a public trials registry at or before the time of first patient enrollment. Otherwise, you must provide your ethics committee registration number.

Commentary or letter to the Editor

Manuscripts submitted as a Letter to the Editor should relate to a paper previously published in a CybelePress journal and be a concise account of agreement or disagreements with the published paper, or address an issue of wider concern within the scope of the journal;
Have a word count of no more than 1,000 words;
Have references formatted in the CybelePress style.

Submission of Manuscript

All manuscripts should be sent to the editor in chief at thomas.poder@umontreal.ca and indicate the name of the journal.
You will receive an aknowledgement of receipt.

Reference Style

Insert citations in brackets and consider using the style of Transfusion Medicine Reviews


For an article:

You will receive the typeset page proofs for approval
Check amendments made by the editor have not rendered the material inaccurate
Check you have answered all the editor’s queries
Ensure your corrections are minimal and absolutely necessary
Notify the editorial office of all corrections within 72 hours of your receipt of the material
Ensure all authors sign and return the Approval for Publication and final page of Publication Agreement​


Articles will be archived on this website and on the internal servor of the CRCHUS
